By accessing or using Joutra (referred to in these Terms of Service as "Joutra," "we," "us," or "our"), you confirm that you agree to and are bound by these Terms of Service. These terms apply to the Joutra mobile application and any related communications between you and Joutra.
Joutra is a personal journaling app that lets you record dreams, reflections, and gratitude entries. Certain features use artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies ("AI Features") to generate insights, summaries, or patterns based on content you choose to analyze. By using Joutra, you acknowledge that AI Features are automated systems that may produce inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, biased, outdated, or unintended results.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Joutra shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data or profit, arising from your use of or inability to use the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. If your use of the app results in the need for servicing, repair, or correction of equipment or data, you assume any related costs.
We reserve the right to change pricing, features, and usage policies at any time, subject to applicable law and app store requirements.
By using Joutra, creating an account, or purchasing a subscription, you consent to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
Joutra grants you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to download, install, and use the app strictly in accordance with these Terms of Service.
These Terms of Service are a contract between you and Alemix Tech LLC, the provider of Joutra. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use Joutra. In these terms, "you" refers to you as an individual and, where applicable, the entity you represent. If you violate these terms, we may suspend or terminate your access without notice, subject to applicable law.

Certain features, including expanded AI usage, may require a paid Premium subscription.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Subscription fees are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law or platform policies.
Deleting the app or deleting your Joutra account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. You must cancel through your app store account.

If you purchase a subscription through Google Play, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled according to Google Play's terms and policies.
Joutra may provide AI-generated dream analysis, reflection insights, gratitude pattern summaries, or other automated outputs when you choose to use AI Features.
These outputs are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or unsuitable for your specific circumstances. Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, AI-generated outputs are provided solely for informational and personal journaling purposes. They do not constitute medical, mental health, psychological, therapeutic, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
You remain solely responsible for evaluating and acting on any AI-generated content. Do not rely exclusively on AI outputs for decisions involving health, safety, legal rights, or other high-risk matters.
AI-generated outputs may not be reviewed by human personnel before being shown to you. The absence of human review does not imply endorsement, verification, or approval of any output.
Joutra stores journal entries locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining backup copies of important information. While we implement reasonable safeguards, we cannot guarantee against data loss, corruption, device failure, or service interruptions.
You may delete your account and local journal data from within the app settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Any feedback, comments, ideas, improvements, or suggestions you provide to Joutra may be used by us without obligation to compensate or credit you, subject to applicable law.
The Service may rely on or link to third-party services, including sign-in providers, subscription platforms, and AI providers. We are not responsible for third-party services, including their accuracy, availability, security practices, or terms. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms and policies.
The Service may incorporate AI technologies or services provided by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for the actions, outputs, availability, or security practices of third-party AI providers.
These Terms remain in effect until terminated by you or Joutra. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if required for legal, security, or operational reasons.
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device and, if applicable, deleting your account. Upon termination, you must cease use of the app and delete all copies from your devices.
If you believe content in the app infringes your copyright, contact us with: (a) your physical or electronic signature; (b) identification of the allegedly infringing material; (c) your contact information; (d) a statement of good faith belief that use is unauthorized; and (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Joutra, Alemix Tech LLC, and our affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and licensors from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the app, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or meet your requirements, or that defects will be corrected. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Notwithstanding any damages you may incur, our total liability under these Terms shall be limited to the amount you actually paid for Joutra subscriptions in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose, or zero if you have not paid for a subscription.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Joutra is intended to support personal reflection, journaling, and self-expression. We do not guarantee improved mental health, emotional outcomes, personal growth, productivity, or any specific result from using the app or AI Features. Results vary based on individual circumstances.
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at contact@alemixtech.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally within sixty (60) days.
Except for disputes relating to intellectual property enforcement, any unresolved dispute shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the commercial arbitration rules of the American Arbitration Association, unless prohibited by applicable law. You waive the right to participate in class actions or class-wide arbitration to the extent permitted by law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local law applies.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Unless otherwise required by law, we will notify you of material changes through the app or other reasonable means. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the app and may delete your account.
